“Youth Parliament” provides a platform for young individuals to engage in parliamentary-style debates, discussions, and decision-making processes.
34th REGIONAL YOUTH PARLIAMENT COMPETITION -2023
Democracy is the best form of Government; it is the most representative and popular form. Youth Parliament Competition aims to acquaint the students with the practical working of real parliament of the country and instill democratic values in them.
With this view the 34th Regional Youth Parliament competition was organized at Kendriya Vidyalaya No-2,SOI, HBK, Dehradun on 03.10.2023 & 04.10.2023 with due grace and dignity. 06 Kendriya Vidyalaya of the Dehradun region i.e. KV Birpur, KV ITBP 1shift, KV OLF, KV Ranikhet ,KV Kashipur and KV Roorkee No-1 got a chance to showcase their talent.
Mr. Manoj Rawat, Ex MLA, Kedarnath Constituency, Govt. of Uttrakhand, grace the occasion with his benign presence as chief guest. Dr. SukritiRewani, Deputy Commissioner, KVS Dehradun Region, Mr. Surjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner, Dehradun Region, Mr. Prashant Kumar, Chairman, VMC and Mrs. Mikky Kulbe, Principal,IIP Dehradun were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Dr. Sukriti Rawani , Deputy Commissioner, Dehradun Region welcomed the Chief Guest and participating teams in the inaugural ceremony. A brief cultural show was presented by the students of the Vidyalaya to welcome the guests which enlightened everyone present there. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Surjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner, KVS, Dehradun Region specified the judgement criteria and all focal point of the show.
After the inaugural ceremony the competition started and impressive performances were presented by all participating teams. On 1st day (03.10.2023)of the event, 4 teams KV Ranikhet, KV OLF , KVITBP 1shift and KV Kashipur gave their performances.
On day 2 (04.10.2023) KV Birpur and KV Roorkee no -1 performed .The performance of all the 06 schools were very impressive and current issues were taken by all the schools.
The parliamentary procedures and practices were minutely adjudged by Mr. Manoj Rawat Ex MLA, Mr. Surjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner, KVS Dehradun Region, Mrs. Mikky Kulbe, Principal IIP, Dehradun.
All burning issues were presented by the teams in a befitting manner, in their parliament session. Addressing the gathering on the 2nd day (04.10.2023) at the end of the show the Chief Guest Mr. Manoj Rawat praised the efforts of all teams and appreciated the initiative of KVs and ministry of Parliamentary affairs Govt. Of India in apprising the future generation of our country to understand the democratic setup of our country as the free destiny of our country lies in these young hands and also laid the need to organize such programs in all the schools. He also appreciated the participants the minute details of the parliamentary procedure and need of a forceful vision with a forceful speech.
As the final part of the program KV Roorkee no-1 grabbed the Ist position, IInd position and IIIrd position was taken by KV Birpur and KV ITBP 1shift respectively.
The winners were given prizes by Mr. Surjeet Singh, Assistant Commisioner, KVS Dehradun Region.
