Mission

The Kendriya Vidyalayas have a four - fold mission, viz.,

  • To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government including Defence and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education ;
  • To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education;
  • To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) etc.
  • To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of "Indianness" among children.

Objectives

  • To fulfill the educational needs of the central government's transferable employees, including the personnel of defense and paramilitary forces, by providing education under the general program of education.
  • Setting excellence and speed in the field of school education.
  • With the cooperation of other bodies such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) National Educational Research and Training Council (NCERT) etc., new experiments and innovations in the field of education.
  • Developing national unity and sense of Indianness in children.

  • All courses in Kendriya Vidyalayas and teaching through bilingual medium.
  • All Kendriya Vidyalayas are concerned with the Central Board of Secondary Education.
  • All Kendriya Vidyalayas are co-education and mixed schools.
  • In all Kendriya schools, Sanskrit is taught from class 5 to 8.
  • The quality of teaching is kept high by proper teacher student ratio.
  • Scheduled Castes / ST students, boys up to Class VIII and girls up to Class XII, In KVS No tuition fees are taken from children of their employees.
